Our History

Woodfield Facilities Limited is wholly owned by Milcars (Radlett) Limited.
Milcars has been a strong name in North West London and Hertfordshire since the late 60’s and gained its name from the original premises in Mill Hill, London, NW7.

Since that time Milcars has represented franchises with Rover, Nissan, MINI, BMW and Mazda. BMW moved on from Mill Hill and acquired the Stanmore site in 1982, followed by Milcars Watford BMW opening in January 1988, then opening the Temple Fortune showroom in 1991 and Ruislip followed in 1995. The Nissan franchise was also opened at that time in Lower High Street, Watford with the site doubling in size to incorporate the Mazda franchise, thereby selling the Radlett site.

A large PDI and Body Repair Centre was then opened in Borehamwood in 2000, which housed the largest MINI showroom in Europe.

In January 2001 the company purchased a site in Hatfield Road, St Albans and opened it as a used car centre trading as Milcars Select. However, June 2002 saw the disposal of the Nissan/Mazda site in Watford and an agreement was reached with Mazda to re-house the franchise to St Albans where trading commenced in October 2002.

In August 2003 Milcars sold their BMW franchises, and in June 2004 saw the purchase of a large site in Watford and began refurbishing to create the largest Mazda showroom in Europe. Work on this major development was completed in March 2005.

Woodfield Facilities Ltd began in 1987 at Woodfield House in Stanmore, then moving onto the Hatfield Road, St Albans premises in 2003. Woodfield then moved into the newly refurbished building at Watford in October 2012 where we remain today.

Consumers are provided with clear information and are kept appropriately informed before, during and after the point of sale.
Where consumers receive advice, the advice is suitable and takes account of their circumstances.
Consumers are provided with products that perform as firms have led them to expect, and the associated service is of an acceptable standard and as they have been led to expect.

Consumer Duty  The FCA have recently announced a new legislation called Consumer Duty, this being principle 12 of the Financial Conduct Authority principles.  Consumer Duty is protection for customers that are using finance to purchase services and goods, and states that companies must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers. This new legislation applies to all companies that are regulated by the FCA and applies to anyone taking out a finance agreement.  The FCA wants all customers to experience a good outcome when they take out a finance agreement and thereby the rules that companies are required to follow are:  • To act in good faith towards all customers • To avoid causing foreseeable harm to any customer • To allow and support customers to pursue their financial objectives  How does Consumer Duty affect us?  Woodfield Facilities already strive to provide our customers with the best possible outcomes, however we will continue to review all aspects of our business and training resources in order to ensure that we continue to meet the requirements of the FCA Principles of Business.  Our customers may see some slight changes when applying for any of our finance products, but we already cover the regulations fully and ensure good service and outcomes as part of our daily processes.
